Suppression Actions Combined with Rains Diminish the Oak Grove Fire ST. GEORGE, UTAH –Fire personnel suppression actions combined with rain kept the Oak Grove Fire at 943 acres and an increase to seventy percent containment. Significant rain fell over the area the past few days with rain still in the forecast. Approximately ninety people were demobilized from the fire, which includes three Interagency Hotshot crews and one Type 2 initial attack crew. “Fire behavior is very minimal with some interior smoldering and light smoke remaining,” said Eric Eastep Incident Commander. Approximately forty firefighters remain on the fire to finish securing the fire perimeter, work on rehabilitation efforts and to secure the Oak Grove Campground if any flame rekindle. The closure order remains in effect for Oak Grove Road #032 to Oak Grove Campground. All other closure areas have been withdrawn.
